Hi, I just purchased this dashboard, really great stuff. I have one complaint/suggestion. This is distributed as an 'app', which is fine if one wants to just customize what's there . But since a big part of this is the components and what have you, it would be much nicer if all the major parts were packaged as a library, then the package would have perhaps a separate demo 'app' that pulled them all in. That way it could be used out of the box as it is now and one could more easily pull the components into another site/application.

Hello @erichliphant and thank you for your interest in using our product. Yes, we are thinking about how we could do that. Best, Manu.

Totally agree. That is effectively my problem too. If you buy the app/dashboard, it should also give you access to all the components in a nice modular/library way.

Totally support this idea as well. I was going buy PRO version but it's not clear how to use the components in my own project structure.

@einazare the following is the product that I bought https://www.creative-tim.com/product/material-dashboard-pro-react Then I saw that you released: https://demos.creative-tim.com/material-kit-pro-react What I basically want is the most comprehensive and up to date list of components for Material and React from you guys so my question is the following - does the dashboard include everything from the pro-react kit? I'd really prefer to not have to have two products to get the comprehensive list of the most up to date components

Hello again @stephencsweeney , sorry for this late response, i've had some personal issues to attend to. The Kit has more components than the dashboard and also, has a newer version of Material-UI ([email protected]) while the dashboard has v1.2.0. I am doing my best on updating these products, but it is very hard doing updates as fast as the Material-UI guys are updating their framework and working on other products. We are kind of full with work around here. The thing is that one is a kit (you should use it for a website - to show your clients "what you are selling", and the dashboard is for the admin part of a website - the part that your clients do not see - or for your users to access their stuff). Best, Manu.

hi again @einazare . No worries and thank you for replying. I appreciate how fast you guys are able to make updates. I also understand your point about the two different uses, but really I think that's a bad experience as a customer. I would much prefer to be able to buy one product that has all the latest components with one version of material-ui, and if I want to use the pages for the admin side, then I can. Splitting react/material-ui components into two separate products is confusing as a customer. I also paid a decent amount of money for the first full enterprise license for the dashboard pro product and now find that there is a different product with later component versions. What would be great/fair imho is in the short term to be able to get the kit for free if a customer has purchased the dashboard, and longer term I would strongly urge you to merge the products as it will be a way better and simpler experience for your potential customers. Let me know your thoughts and thanks for your awesome work :)

Hello again @stephencsweeney and once again sorry for the late response, we've been on a small vacation. I am going to leave here some details about why the dashboard and the kit come separate (if they would be merged, they would be at the price of them both together - 59 + 89 = 158 $, or maybe something similar or close to that number). But please read the following comment to understand why they are separate: Here is a quick presentation on how to use the products: 1. The Dashboard should be used for the Admin/CMS part of your website/startup. Here is where you control everything from the management part, where you see stats like this: https://demos.creative-tim.com/material-dashboard-pro-react/#/dashboard about your products/users, where you edit/add/delete: https://demos.creative-tim.com/material-dashboard-pro-react/#/tables/react-tables different items, etc. This is the control panel of your site. The Dashboard also includes the Login Page (https://demos.creative-tim.com/material-dashboard-pro-react/#/pages/login-page), Register Page (https://demos.creative-tim.com/material-dashboard-pro-react/#/pages/register-page) or Lock Screen Page (https://demos.creative-tim.com/material-dashboard-pro-react/#/pages/lock-screen-page) so you can use them to have the access to the Dashboard. 2. The UI Kit should be used for the part where you present your business. You can create with the kit the Landing Page (https://demos.creative-tim.com/material-kit-pro-react/#/landing-page) of your startup/website, the Contact Us Page (http://demos.creative-tim.com/material-kit-pro/examples/contact-us.html) the Pricing Page (https://demos.creative-tim.com/material-kit-pro-react/#/contact-us) the About Us Page (https://demos.creative-tim.com/material-kit-pro-react/#/about-us) etc. Or you can use this to create also your Blog (https://demos.creative-tim.com/material-kit-pro-react/#/blog-posts), where you will keep in touch with your audience. You can also built your own pages with already made sections -> https://demos.creative-tim.com/material-kit-pro-react/#/sections#headers . If you create a SaaS, probably your users will have access to the Dashboard too, so they can control some items from there too. But you still need the UI kit for the presentation pages of your business. In this way you will have the same design in the presentation and also in the Dashboard. The basic idea is that you should keep the products separate and not try to combine them because you will load your page with too much CSS and Javascript which are not necessary in the same time. Your user will be either on a Landing Page, or on the Admin Part. If you like for example 1 item from one product, like a Card, and it is not in the other product, you can check in the next example how to do that using the SCSS and JSS files. Just follow the next steps, for the FileUpload Example: 1. You can go to material-kit-pro-react/src/assets/scss/core/_fileupload.scss and put it in the material-dashboard-pro-react/src/assets/scss/material-dashboard-pro-react/_fileupload.scss folder. 2. Add the following line inside src/assets/scss/material-dashboard-pro-react.scss : @import "material-dashboard-pro-react/fileupload"; at the end of it. Please let us know if we can help you with anything else. All the best, Manu.

@einazare 1f1 hi @einazare thanks for your reply. I understand your answer but I have to say that for users I feel giving them the choice with one package on the same version of react is the best option. I have already paid a full enterprise license for the material-dashboard-pro which was not cheap. It has components and page examples on one version of material-ui. Now there is a second product with a different version, different components and different pages. It just makes a customer/developer's life way harder to do it this way. Can you see if you can come up with some other solution?

Hi, I would like to know if I can buy this product and use it in different projects?

einazare
  • owner

Hello @narekabazyan17 and thank you for your interest in using our products. If you want to use the product in different projects than you need to either buy the Developer License, either buy the Personal License for each project (if you have 4 projects for example, you need to buy this product 4 times, or you can buy the Developer License and use it in as many projects as you would like). Best, Manu

Hi @einazare I bought this theme but I am not able to add onChange event to <CustomInput> component. In login page , we can see input boxes and they are CustomInput component. But I am not able to get value of input boxes even though I add onChange event to that component Can you tell me the suggestion ?

einazare
  • owner

Hello @teodoralov and thank you for your interest in using our product. I am soory for this late response, we've had a small vacation last week. To make the onChange event work on <CustomInput> you need to add the event in the inputProps property, something like this: <CustomInput inputProps={{onChange: e => console.log("hey")}}>. Best, Manu.

Hey I just bought this package and installed with npm install and npm start. It fails with the following errors. ./node_modules/@material-ui/core/ButtonBase/ButtonBase.js Module not found: Can't resolve '@babel/runtime/helpers/builtin/assertThisInitialized' Can you please help fix this issue. Also reported by another user at https://github.com/creativetimofficial/ct-material-dashboard-pro-react/issues/61 We do expect things to work out of box when we pay for the product. Can't wait for you to fix the issue and get started on using these amazing themes.

@einazare, when I run npm start after npm install, I see "./node_modules/@material-ui/core/ButtonBase/ButtonBase.js Module not found: Can't resolve '@babel/runtime/helpers/builtin/assertThisInitialized' in '/Users/pheno/.Trash/test-drive/node_modules/@material-ui/core/ButtonBase'" even after running "npm i -g cross-env" the problem remains the same, can you provide me what I should do? it's actually the same problem as vamsi, I think, I am using a fresh copy of the material theme, so the package.json should be right
