Nice to see a Vue.js implementation of this beautiful template. Definitely looking forward for a Bootstrap 4 version to buy it and use it more pleasantly than BS3, like you've shown in one of your blog posts. ;-) Let's hope that an automated tool can do a good job in the conversion process.

alexpaduraru

@ameftt thank you for the kind words. Yes, there will be a BS4 version and I hope the converter that we are working on now will help us. We will send emails when this will be launched. Best, Alex!

I realize that it missed some components like Modal or Tag in showcase site.

cristi.jora
  • owner

Hi @hckhanh Can you detail a bit more where exactly? There is a page with modals only which uses sweet alert https://cristijora.github.io/paper-dashboard-pro/#/components/sweet-alert as well as a page with several form components where tags are included https://cristijora.github.io/paper-dashboard-pro/#/forms/extended Tags and Modals are also presented in the documentation as separate components.

what about select2 component for forms ?

cristi.jora
  • owner

Hi @tony.salman There are 2 select examples on this page https://cristijora.github.io/paper-dashboard-pro/#/forms/extended (Customizable select) on the right side. One of them is a multiple select which is based on element-ui select https://jsfiddle.net/api/post/library/pure/ We tried to not include a lot of third party packages for form elements in this dashboard but rather use custom components and element-ui for more complex components. This would make it very easy to add new components from element-ui which has a lot of components :)

Got this pro template and I am really very happy. Just wondering if there's a plan down the road to include toggle switches?

cristi.jora
  • owner

@angeloaa Thanks for the good words! Regarding switches, the template already includes switch components. They are shown on this page https://cristijora.github.io/paper-dashboard-pro/#/forms/extended They are also used on this page https://cristijora.github.io/paper-dashboard-pro/#/table-list/extended (second table) The component is called Switch.vue in the code.

My bad @cristi.jora . Did not fully explored the full feature set yet. Anyhow, is this the best place to provide input on which features would be useful down the road, or would you rather it be done in the Github repo?

cristi.jora
  • owner

@angeloaa It's ok to propose some things here so it's visible to other people as well but for detailed suggestions followed by images or code it's better to open an issue on github. Also regarding features, we will most likely need input from more people until we decide to implement something. We provided the most essential and used things in the dashboard. I know there are a lot of dashboards which might provide more features like e-mail inboxes for examples but that is the point where the dashboard gets bloated, hard to understand and not very clean. If it's a good proposal and other people want it to, we are open to implement it of course :)

How is Bootstrap 4 implementation going, is there a release date yet for the next update, thank you :)

alexpaduraru

Anonymous Tim we are still working on the BS3 -> BS4 converter at this moment. As soon as we have a beta version to be tested we will let you know. Unfortunately, we don't have an ETA for the official launch of Vue PD Pro BS4. Don't worry about working with BS3, we will provide all the information on how to easy migrate it to BS4. Best, Alex!

Does this template also include the standart html version ?

alexpaduraru

Anonymous Tim thank you for your interest in our product. The official package doesn't include the HTML version but we can provide that for you, no worries. Best, Alex!

Would be cool if you guys add a version of select dropdown and datepicker with the same design of your input fields. In my opinion, your current design of these elements just feel out of place or lacks uniformity for forms. But all in all, this template is great!

cristi.jora
  • owner

@airolucas Thanks for the feedback! I think those elements can be slightly improved to look more uniform as you said. I don't really want to switch them to other plugins because they provide code uniformity on the other hand. We used element-ui for a couple of complex components and would love to keep as less third parties from different sources as possible :) Feel free to open an issue on github for that. There is a "report issue" button just above the comments. Thanks again!

Hi. This Dashboard looks really nice. As far as I see it is still on Bootstrap 3. When are you going to bring it to Bootstrap 4? If I would buy now, would I get the Bootstrap 4 upgrade or would I need to buy that again?

cristi.jora
  • owner

@tobias.vetter Thank your for feedback. To answer your question, yes it is on bootstrap 3 still and if you buy it now you don't have to buy it again. We will provide a free upgrade to BS4 once it's rolled out.

tobias.vetter

Thanks for the quick reply @cristi.jora . Do you have some idea when the upgrade to Bootstrap 4 will be live? Are there any experiences with integrating this Dashboard into a Webpacker (Ruby on Rails) environment?

cristi.jora
  • owner

@tobias.vetter Unfortunately we don't have a very clear timeline on that yet. It should be this autumn. Regarding integration with webpacker, I personally never used it. We have experience with adapting this template to .NET MVC and soon we will have guides on how to do it in Laravel (php). Rails is pretty distant to me so I cannot guarantee anything on that. This template is a SPA and I would strongly suggest playing around with the FREE version first https://www.creative-tim.com/product/vue-paper-dashboard which has the same setup/folder structure. If you have success integrating it with your backend then the PRO version shouldn't be an issue either. Hope it helps :)

Hello, there! Do you guys already have or include a prebuilt template that walks the end-user through the tutorial on how to use the dashboard? More like guides when you first hit the site and login successfully?

cristi.jora
  • owner

@isaiah.melendez Hi there :) Although, I think it's a pretty interesting feature, we don't have something like that included in any of the dashboards. If you know good ways to achieve that (step by step pop-up system) we would probably be open to investigate a bit and see the pros and cons of integrating such a thing.

I will have our Jr dev look into integrating. Was just wondering in case you guys had something so that I did not have to reinvent the wheel. I will definitely pass any success stories along.

cristi.jora
  • owner

@alexpaduraru .alex We usually try to keep templates as clean and light (at least for Vue) as possible and not overload with a lot of features but rather focus on the most used components/features. Usually we have recommendations for different integrations, authorization, how to make api requests, validation and so on. For guides, I don't have a very good recommendation though. Maybe @alexpaduraru can give us some hints and suggestions around that

@isaiah.melendez Wanted to mention you in the first line. Got the wrong user there.

alexpaduraru

@isaiah.melendez as Cristi said, at this moment we don't have a guide for working from scratch with the dashboard. We will think in future if we can create some video tutorials with some examples of real-life use cases. I will talk more with Cristi about this and when will be the right time to do that. Hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any further feedback and we would be glad to help. Best, Alex!
