Has anybody gotten <Checkbox /> to work? As far as I can tell they're completely broken.

Hi @daniel.bickler . Can you please tell us what the problem is? What doesn't seem to work? If you have a github account, you can open an issue here (https://github.com/creativetimofficial/light-bootstrap-dashboard-react/issues) and we'll help you with it. All the best, Manu!

Since FB are patenting ReactJS with lots of usage laws, any chance using another JS library?

alexpaduraru

@bobby.ramdin the License Issue was solved 1 week ago. ReactJS was release under MIT License which solves all the problems that were caused by the old license. More details here: https://thenextweb.com/dd/2017/09/25/facebook-re-licenses-react-mit-license-developer-backlash/#.tnw_UdVH4EB0 Best, Alex!

@alexpaduraru Thanks for the reply, yes I read this although they still haven't released it as yet. Well lets hope so. It still doesn't seem too clear, do you have any more articles relating to this. The uncertainty is already in the works, will you look at other libraries just in case they change there mind again?

Hi @bobby.ramdin . There are a couple of articles and debates on this licence topic. People didn't have any issues with it until apache software foundation stated that their software conflicts with React's software licence. Regarding other libraries, creative-tim embraces angular 2/4 as well as Vue.js. You can check out the front page for products based on those 2 technologies :)

Thats awesome thanks @ @cristi.jora I'm loving the great work at creative-tim btw. I work with Drupal so Angular is quite popular with it. Wordpress dropping there admin with react threw me some. Cheers for the info :)

alexpaduraru

@bobby.ramdin @cristi.jora on the official repo it's MIT: https://github.com/facebook/react/blob/master/LICENSE so I think it seems fine. As Cristi said, yes we have other frameworks and we will continue to deliver our design over Angular4+, Vue.js and React. The WordPress case seems pretty interesting and I will dig deeper into this subject. Keep in touch. Best, Alex!

I'm waiting for the premium to come. I need all features such as login and others. When am i expecting it to be available?

einazare

Hi @michaelchuba93 . The pro version is under development and we are trying to make it as fast as we can, but we cannot say how soon will it be done. We have to be sure that our products meet some standards, and this process takes some time. All the best, Manu!

It would be very great if you give login/signup functionality. I hope that, this template would be very helpful for me to learn reactjs.

einazare

Hi @nasr18 . These functionalities are only available only in PRO versions or in UI KITS. Best, Manu!

Is it possible to extract components from this project to use in an existing project? For example, if I want to use the sidebar or task list in another project i've already started, what would i need to do to integrate the components?

einazare
  • owner

Hi @mrkalejaiye . You can take any components you would like from this Dashboard, it has a MIT license. If you would like to use the sidebar or task list in your project, you should just take the Sidebar component ("src/components/Sidebar/Sidebar.jsx"), Tasks components ("src/components/Tasks/Tasks.jsx"), you would need the CustomCheckbox elements as well ("src/elements/CustomCheckbox/CustomCheckbox.jsx") and CustomButton elemente ("src/elements/CustomButton/CustomButton.jsx"). Then you would need to extract the css or .scss files for this components for them to have our style. I hope this helps you, and if you have any other questions, we are here to help. We would appreciate if you could put a link to our dashboard in your project (in a readme for example). All the best, Manu!

@emanuelnazare thanks! Just wondering, do you think you guys would ever consider using styled-components for the CSS in your React projects? I've been learning how to use them recently and it looks like they would make exporting a component to use in an existing project easier. But just a thought anyway, thanks for getting back to me! The dashboard is beautiful btw

@einazare This sounds awesome. Will it be possible to include JSX components also with the Pro version? And/Or will the free and the Pro version include the same JSX components?

@robertjohansson the PRO version will have the same JSX components, but will also include some more components. All the best, Manu!

Hello. After "npm install" and "npm start" error occured: ./src/index.js Module not found: Can't resolve 'containers/App/App.jsx' in 'C:\Users\jav7031\Develop\workspace\npm\creativetim\src'. Why relative path not working correctly?

einazare
  • owner

Hello @jarjav . You can resolve this error by three ways: 1. Change "NODE_PATH=src" to "NODE_PATH=./src" inside ".env" file; 2. Change "react-scripts start" to "cross-env NODE_PATH=./src react-scripts start" inside package.json (this would require cross-env to be installed globally); 3. Change all relative paths to absolute paths; Hope this helps you. Manu!

Thanks for replay @einazare . I selected way #2. After "npm i -g cross-env" and replaced text you provide, your react admin template work perfect. Good job man!

Hey @alexpaduraru - any estimate on how long before the pro version release? I'm using it and finding the need to build new things that I'm pretty sure you are building if you're going with the same pattern of your other themes. If it's soon, I'd like to just wait.

alexpaduraru

@tony.montanajan it should come this week. We are doing some final touches to make sure there are no bugs. We will send a newsletter after the release. Best, Alex!
