🗞️ News from last week
- Toniq Labs launches Bioniq Bitcoin NFT marketplace on the Internet Computer Protocol blockchain, claiming it is the fastest marketplace for Bitcoin NFTs in the world. Its goal is to simplify the buying and selling of Bitcoin NFTs and reduce congestion on the Bitcoin network.
- The Floor app adds support for Bitcoin Ordinals, in addition to existing support for ETH and SOL.
- Zora simplifies the onboarding process for new users by allowing them to sign up with just an email address, without the need for a crypto wallet.
- The RARI Foundation launches the RARI Chain on the Arbitrum platform, designed to secure copyrights, keep costs low, and provide Ethereum-grade security.
- Animoca Brands becomes the largest validator of the TON blockchain, to support GameFi and TON's gaming ecosystem.
- Also from Animoca Brands, we have an investment in Farcana, a shooter game from a team in the United Arab Emirates, with tournaments, competitions, and prizes in Bitcoin. The investment anticipates the launch of the game and a token next year.
- Ubisoft-backed Horizon Blockchain Games is launching Sequence Builder, a platform that facilitates the integration of cryptocurrencies and NFTs into video games, after previously raising $40M in funding.
💰 Investments
With the rapid development of artificial intelligence and the growing interest in using avatars to represent us digitally, AnotherBall comes with a distinct vision: to create connections between creators and fans "across borders" by facilitating content monetization through Web3 and AI technologies.
AnotherBall, a Singapore-based company in the virtual entertainment industry, recently received $12.7M in funding for IZUMO, a VTuber project currently developing a platform for empowering creators, which is scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2024.
Earlier this year, they released through IZUMO, "SAI by IZUMO" and "Ailis" soulbound digital avatars in collaboration with top artists in the Japanese anime and gaming industry, which can be used for both commercial and non-commercial purposes.
Now, what is VTuber? A virtual YouTuber, who uses computer graphics-generated avatars to create real-time motion content. IZUMO thus believes that the future of content creation will be based on VTubers and that the integration of Web3 and NFTs will transform content, bringing increased security and exclusive ownership.
While it may seem like science fiction, we are closer than we imagine to a paradigm shift in the way we connect, consume, and monetize content online, with a growing interest in bringing content into a new era where avatars have become an important part of our online experience.
🗽 Brands / Celebrities
- Casio will launch 2,000 VIRTUAL G-SHOCK NFTs on December 15, and G-SHOCK CREATOR PASS holders will be able to pre-order the Virtual G-Shock collection.
- Forbes debuts in Web3 with the launch of the Under 30 list on the Ethereum blockchain. It is secured on OpenSea and cannot be auctioned.
- FIAT will launch the CINQUECENTO collection of 10k NFTs on 5 December at 0.067 ETH. The NFTs will be minted on Arbitrum and offer benefits such as priority access to order FIAT® 500e (US), a unique piece of generative artwork from Stefan Contiero, $180 in Free2move credits (US and Europe), FIAT® Pass Plus membership card, early access to future vehicle launches and digital collections, and integrated sustainability with Veritree.
- Louis Vuitton introduces a new NFT collection, VIA Tile Trunk, a virtual trunk worth €6,000, a creation by Nicolas Ghesquière. Only 200 NFTs will be available, reserved exclusively for customers of the brand's VIA program, launched in June 2022.
📣 Projects News / Updates
- DeGods have announced a new roadmap, focusing on community engagement and technological advancement. Updates include an identity system, an internal accelerator that encourages building with NFT IP, official licensing of intellectual property, a new social media app called deToX, and more, to unite the DeGods, y00ts, BTC DeGods, and DUST communities into a larger community.
- BAYC avatars are now in Roblox in the Kingship Islands game. Kingship, a virtual band featuring characters from the NFT BAYC collection created by Universal Music Group's record label, has launched a new virtual experience in Roblox.
- OKAY BEARS, an NFT collection on the Solana blockchain, is launching its own OKAY BEARS® T-SHIRT merch in over 1000 ZARA stores worldwide.
- We have merch drops from both Pudgy Penguins (ready for next week) and Cool Cats (available for pre-order).
- On 8 December, the collaborative project between Pudgy Penguins and Nouns will be launched as part of their development strategy in the Web3 ecosystem.
- OnChainMonkeys opens a portal for upgrading OCM Genesis to Bitcoin, marking a new phase of the project.
- For those of you who have minted or purchased NFTs from Impact Theory, the company is offering a voluntary refund for all Impact Theory Founders Key (Founders Key) holders. There will also be a refund for the Merry Modz digital collection, which will begin in January 2024 after the Founders Key refund ends. Details here.
🎵 Music NFTs
- Sound of Fractures released "SCENES" on Friday, December 1st. Fueled by a desire to capture the emotional value of music, the project has evolved into a platform for artists. The artist expresses the challenges of navigating the complexities of being a creator in an ever-evolving landscape.
- Anotherblock has released NFTs tied to Lil Peep's song "Hate Me", offering holders a percentage of the profits earned from streaming, provided by HANK SOLO. In addition, they are also releasing an exclusive series of digital vinyl on Base every day until Miami Art Basel, starting with Ali Gatie's "RENTFREE".
- Sound introduces Magic Withdrawals, which means no more gas fee for withdrawing profits from all NFTs songs on Optimism!
- Swedish House Mafia has launched an interactive concert in Roblox, hosted by DJ's World on December 1 at 6pm EST. This virtual event redefined the concert experience by combining music and games.
